What is Named Entity Recognition?
Our Named Entity Recognizer works as stand-alone technology or as part of our Anonymizer (anonymization services). It is mainly used for the identification of proper nouns in documents or texts as part of our e-Discovery service. The named entities (proper nouns) are then classified into a set of predefined categories of interest. Our Named Entity Recognition (NER) detects proper nouns that refer to:
People
Places
Companies
Other named entities that can be detected:
- Jobs/positions/professions
- Patients/family members
- Nationality
- Dates
- ID/passport/driver's license numbers
- Age
- Deadlines
- Event names
Thanks to the features of our Anonymizer, you can also extract and identify other entities.
The results of Pangeanic's Named Entity Recognition are of great value to information end-user industries of all types, especially in legal, banking and financial institutions, insurance companies, publishing, defense and law enforcement, as well as governments and public administrations.
